Cardiology Nocturnist – 7-on/7-off Inpatient Role at Regional Heart Center (Indiana)

Job description

A large regional referral hospital in northeast Indiana is seeking a board-certified cardiologist for a long-term nocturnist locums assignment.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys high-acuity inpatient cardiology at night, prefers a compact 7-on/7-off schedule, and wants to work within a robust heart and vascular program without the administrative burden of a permanent role.

Position Highlights
• Schedule: 7p–7a, 7-on/7-off, Monday evening to the following Monday morning
• Coverage Type: Inpatient cardiology; no additional call beyond scheduled nights
• Setting:
o Large acute-care hospital
o Level II trauma environment
o Dedicated heart & vascular program with advanced imaging and procedural support
• Typical Volume: ~15–19 inpatients per night, including ICU-level patients
• EMR: Cerner
• Support: Established cardiology team and hospitalist/ICU support

Clinical Scope
• Inpatient Cardiology (including ICU)
• Non-invasive cardiology:
o Echocardiography
o TEE
o Nuclear cardiology (e.g., Cardiolyte, thallium)
• Nighttime management of complex cardiac patients in collaboration with ICU and ED teams
