Inpatient coverage, no call required

Job Overview:

We are seeking a locum Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic (HPB) surgical oncology. This role provides full-time inpatient and outpatient coverage. The candidate will coordinate pre- and post-surgical care, collaborate with surgeons, assist in the OR as needed, and ensure seamless communication across the care team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide clinical care for surgical oncology patients

- Complete comprehensive patient assessments

- Determine diagnosis and treatment of illness

- Order and interpret medical diagnostics in collaboration with physicians

- Prescribe medications, treatments, therapy, and medical equipment

- Conduct patient education for chronic illness management and wellness

- Refer patients for specialty care when appropriate

- Consult with physicians when cases exceed PA scope of practice

- Participate as a key member of the healthcare team, promoting interdisciplinary communication

- Serve as a resource and consultant to staff and other healthcare team members

- Collaborate on program development with the primary care team

- Act as liaison with outside agencies as needed

- Assist in the OR with patient prepping, procedures, and closure

- Perform procedures including wound care and drain care/removal

Requirements:

Active state licensure required (or willingness to obtain)

Experience in surgical oncology preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team



Perks & Details:

Bill Rate: $120.00/hour-130/hour

Acute Care Hospital Setting

Trauma Level: Adult III-IV

ASAP start

Duration: 8–10 weeks for NP; 4–5 months for PA
