About the clinician's workday

The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated adults in a county jail environment, conducting individual therapy sessions and crisis interventions during full-time day shifts. The clinician will manage a daily caseload of 8-12 patients, treating mood disorders, anxiety and trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders with co-occurring conditions, and serious mental illness. Primary responsibilities include conducting behavioral health assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing short-term therapeutic services to individuals presenting with acute and chronic behavioral health needs. The position requires specialized attention to adjustment-related distress related to incarceration and individuals at risk for suicide or self-harm while maintaining thorough documentation and conducting 10-20 minute medication checks and 20-30 minute initial evaluations.
