Job description

Riverview Psychotherapy, LLC is seeking a couples therapist to join our growing team. Our practice specializes in perinatal and reproductive mental health, providing supportive, evidence-based care to individuals and couples navigating family planning, infertility, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, reproductive loss, trauma, and the transition to early parenthood.

Couples work at Riverview Psychotherapy is grounded in an understanding of these life stages and the unique relational stressors they can bring. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in couples work during one of the most complex relational periods—family building and early parenthood—including fertility challenges, postpartum adjustment, shifting identities, and changes in partnership dynamics

Our approach is integrative and trauma-informed, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, attuned therapeutic space that supports growth, resilience, and meaningful change.



Job Responsibilities:

Provide couples therapy as the primary focus of your caseload, with the opportunity to support individuals as clinically appropriate
Conduct structured couples assessments (relationship history, attachment dynamics, conflict patterns)
Facilitate sessions focused on communication, conflict repair, intimacy, and trust-building
Use evidence-based couples interventions (e.g., Gottman Method, EFT, or other relational modalities)
Support couples navigating perinatal transitions, including identity shifts, division of labor, and emotional/physical intimacy changes


Experience:

Formal training or strong interest in couples therapy models (Gottman, EFT, Imago, etc.)
Experience working with relational dynamics (conflict cycles, attachment, communication patterns)
Experience supporting couples in perinatal/reproductive transitions (or strong interest)


Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, mental health, or a related field
Currently licensed as an independent practitioner in the state of Massachusetts
Ability to maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and ethical decision making

Compensation: $110 - $120 per client hour dependent on level of experience/license
