Opportunity:
Physician - Hospitalist

Job Details:
• Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
• Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care with no procedures required
• Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, and Emergency Medicine physicians
• Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care
• Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
• Document all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes thoroughly in the EMR
• Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations
• Provide ventilator management with specialty backup support
• Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Requires active Vermont medical license and DEA certification
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ventilator management experience and code running experience required
• 2-3 years hospitalist experience highly preferred
• Rural health experience highly preferred
• Rotating call schedule and rotating weekends (0700-1900 when scheduled)
• Not open to candidates who commute more than 1 hour or require visa support
