Clinicians on assignment will also find access to Busch Gardens, a theme park set across wooded hills along the James River featuring a notable lineup of roller coasters, as well as Water Country USA. Outdoor recreation options include cycling the 23-mile Colonial Parkway, which connects to Jamestown through protected forest with no commercial development along its route, offering a range of activities suited to varied interests.

About the clinician's workday

Clinicians will provide clinic-based primary care services to adult psychiatric patients at a state hospital, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; alternate schedules are not permitted. The expected caseload is 8-16 patients per day, with clinical responsibilities focused on the evaluation and management of medical conditions for an adult psychiatric population. No call coverage is required for this assignment. Required credentials include board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (negotiable), an active state license, a minimum of 3 years of practitioner experience, autonomous practice required for DNP, and prescriptive authority; credentialing is estimated at 2-3 weeks.
