Facility:
This medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility featuring 300 total beds with a specialized 12-bed cardiac ICU. The facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center and maintains a robust cardiac surgery program with advanced capabilities including a central referral system and on-site laboratory and imaging services.
Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiovascular
Job Details:
• Full-time position working 4 ten-hour shifts per week with September start dates
• Call schedule includes one night per week and one weekend per month
• Serve as OR First Assist for cardiac surgery team with 1-3 surgeries per day
• Work exclusively with adult patients (100% adult population)
• Must be proficient in all cardiac surgeries including CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting
• Perform general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery procedures both open and endoscopic
• Handle coronary artery bypass surgery on-pump and off-pump
• Manage congenital defects including ASD, VSD, PFO procedures
• Conduct valvular repair and replacement surgeries
• Perform aneurysm repair including aorto-thoracic procedures
• Execute lung resection procedures including VATs
• Handle chest wall, pleural, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries
• Assist with left ventricular assist device procedures
• Required to insert and remove arterial lines
• Work alongside 5 physicians and multiple mid-level providers
• Board certification and active Colorado license highly preferred
• Minimum 6 months experience in cardiac surgery required
• COVID vaccination required with clean background and malpractice history
• Credentialing timeframe is 90-120 days
• Must maintain BLS, Board Certification, and NCCPA certifications
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
