Locum opportunity for NP/PA - Emergency Medicine in Lansing, MI

𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞:
Locum NP/PA – 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞

𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
A healthcare system is seeking a Locum Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to support its Emergency Medicine Fast Track (VUE) and ongoing APP float pool coverage. This Level III Trauma Center is a tertiary teaching hospital adjacent to a major university and manages a high-volume emergency department.

The APP will work 12-hour day shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) and will practice independently within the Fast Track unit, while having 24/7 access to attending emergency physicians for consultation and guidance. The department operates with resident support and comprehensive specialty coverage, with no supervision required for resident cases.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
- Provide autonomous patient care in the Emergency Medicine Fast Track unit.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality -care.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Participate in the APP float pool, covering shifts as needed across the emergency department.
- Document patient encounters accurately and comply with hospital policies and state regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (DocTime) for patient management and reverse-billing processes.

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
- Board Certified NP or PA in Emergency Medicine
- Active state license
- ACLS and ATLS certified
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
