Job description

Emergency Medicine physicians needed for a Corpus Christi, TX ER locums opportunity. This is a 1 year project with an April 2026 start and coverage across a main ER and affiliated freestanding ER sites.

Opportunity Details:
Rate: About $300/hr
Location: Corpus Christi, TX area
Setting: Main ER and freestanding ER sites
Start Date: April 2026
Assignment Length: 1 year
Shift Length: 12 hour shifts
Shift Times: 6a to 6p and 6p to 6a
Call: No after hours call
Coverage: Single physician coverage at listed sites
Travel and Lodging: Can be considered
EMR: Meditech
Onboarding: 2 hour EMR and quality measures training, plus shadow shifts

Volume and Site Details:
Main ER volume: About 80 patients per day
Admissions: About 20 percent at main ER and 10 percent at freestanding sites
APP Coverage: APP coverage at each site
Main ER: 24 hours of APP coverage daily
Freestanding sites: 9 to 12 hours of APP coverage daily

Patient Population:
Mix of elderly, rural, seasonal, nursing home, and younger patient populations depending on site

Procedures:
Intubations
Central lines
Ultrasound utilization
OB delivery
Dislocation reductions
Chest tubes
Trauma management
Laceration repair

Requirements:
MD or DO
ABEM required for main ER coverage
At least 2 years of ED experience for freestanding ER coverage
Family Medicine physicians may be considered for freestanding ER work with Emergency Medicine fellowship
Case logs required
Comfortable with standard ER procedures and all ages

• $300/hr ER locums in Corpus Christi, TX
• 12 hour shifts with no after hours call
• Main ER and freestanding ER coverage with APP support
