# Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens

* **Call:** No traditional call requirement
* **Patient Volume:** Approximately **8–14 patients/day**
* **Admissions:** Approximately **8–14/day**
* **Acuity:** Medium to high
* **Case Mix:** Mostly medical with low trauma
* **EMR:** Epic
* **Support Staff:** RNs
* **Credentialing:** Emergency/Temporary Privileges
* **Travel:** Preferred lodging available; travel details discussed during placement
* Local candidates may also be considered.

## POSITION OVERVIEW

An experienced **Emergency Medicine Physician** is needed for a full-time locum tenens assignment providing ongoing coverage in a hospital-based Emergency Department.

The ideal physician will be flexible and comfortable working **varied shifts based on coverage needs**, including some holidays. The assignment is expected to continue through 2027.

The preferred candidate would be available for approximately **two weeks of coverage per month (about 15 shifts)** on an ongoing basis. Physicians able to provide consistent full-time coverage for an extended period are especially encouraged to apply.

* **November 14:** 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
* **November 20:** 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
* **November 25:** 6:00 PM–3:00 AM
* **November 29:** 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
* **December 5–6:** 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
* **December 13:** 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
* **December 17:** 6:00 PM–3:00 AM
* **December 20–22:** 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
* **December 24:** 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 2:00 PM–11:00 PM
* **December 25:** 2:00 PM–11:00 PM
* **December 27:** 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
* **Additional ongoing dates:** To be determined

### Standard Shift Structure

**Mid Shift**

* 11:00 AM–8:00 PM daily, including weekends

**AM Shift**

* Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
* Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

**PM Shift**

* Monday–Friday: 2:00 PM–11:00 PM
* Saturday–Sunday: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

### Future Coverage

Shift requirements may change in 2027 and could include:

* **6:00 PM–3:00 AM**
* **10:00 PM–7:00 AM**

**Flexibility to work varied shifts according to coverage needs is required.**

* Approximately **8–14 patients per day**
* Approximately **8–14 admissions per day**
* Primarily **medical emergency cases**
* **Low-trauma** environment
* **Medium-to-high acuity** patient population

Compensation is dependent on the applicable rate tier and assignment terms.

## CREDENTIALING

* **Emergency/Temporary Privileges** available.
* Start as soon as credentialing is completed.
* Ongoing coverage anticipated through 2027.

## CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

* **ABEM or AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required**
* **Emergency Medicine residency/fellowship training – Required**
* Minimum **2 years of Emergency Medicine experience**
* Active **Washington State medical license – Required**
* IMLC licensing is **not currently accepted**
* **ACLS – Required**
* **BLS – Required**
* **PALS – Required**
* **DEA – Required**
* Clean background and malpractice history
* No actions or restrictions on medical license
* Must be available for some or all listed coverage dates
* Must be willing to work varied shifts according to coverage needs
* Must be comfortable working some holidays
