Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an Endocrinology MD in Mount Vernon, IL!

Start Date: August 31, 2026 (or September 8, 2026)
Contract Length: Through December 11, 2026, with the option to extend

Schedule
-Monday – Friday
-8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
-Last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM
-Two weeks of coverage per month
-No call

Practice Setting
-Outpatient Endocrinology Clinic

Position Details
-12–15 patients per day
-Adult and geriatric patient population
-Common conditions include hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Graves' disease, thyroid nodules, pituitary disorders, and diabetes
-Fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures available
-Solo physician practice supported by one APP

Support Staff
-Registered Nurse
-Diabetes Educator
-Dietitian
-1 Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

-EMR: Epic

Requirements
-Board Certified in Internal Medicine
-Endocrinology fellowship required
-Active state medical license required
-BLS certification required
-DEA and CSR required
-Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
-Experience managing common endocrine conditions and performing FNA preferred

Credentialing
-Approximately 60 days
-Temporary privileges available within a few weeks for providers with a clean background
