Full Time Locum Tenens Endocrinologist
Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Endocrinologist for an outpatient locum tenens assignment. This is a weekday-only opportunity with no call, a manageable patient volume, established clinical support, and the potential for ongoing coverage into 2027.
Assignment Highlights
Specialty: Endocrinology
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Call: None
Coverage: Approximately 2 weeks per month
Patient Volume: 12–15 patients per day
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
EMR: Epic
Start: ASAP
Current Need Through: December 11, 2026
Extension: Opportunity for ongoing coverage into 2027
Last Patient: Scheduled at 4:15 PM
Current Coverage Dates
August 31–September 4
September 8–September 11
September 28–October 2
October 5–October 9
October 26–October 30
November 2–November 6
November 30–December 4
December 7–December 11
Beginning in January, there is greater flexibility for the selected physician to choose preferred coverage weeks. Candidates with availability into 2027 are strongly preferred, as the facility anticipates an ongoing need.
Clinical Responsibilities
The physician will provide general outpatient endocrinology care and should be comfortable independently evaluating and managing common endocrine conditions, including:
Diabetes
Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism
Graves' disease
Thyroid nodules
Pituitary disorders
Other common endocrine conditions
Fine-needle aspiration (FNA)
The physician will function as the solo physician working alongside one APP.
Clinical Support
Established support includes:
1 APP
RN
Diabetes educator
Dietitian
Requirements
Provider Type: MD/DO
Board Certification: Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Fellowship: Endocrinology fellowship required
State License: Active state license required at submission
BLS: Required
DEA: Required
CSR: Required
Experience: 1+ year preferred
Comfortable managing a broad outpatient endocrinology caseload
FNA capability required
Ability to work independently as the clinic's solo physician alongside an APP

- common conditions managed are hyper/hypo thyroid, graves/ disease, thyroid nodules, pituitary issues, diabetes. Can do FNA.
