Gastroenterologist | Inpatient Consult Service & Endoscopy | 7-Day Blocks | Media, PA | 1-Year Contract

Job description

Start: December 7, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed) - ASAP need
Length: 52 weeks / 1 year
Coverage: 24-hour call, daily coverage - 7 consecutive days of 24/7 coverage, beginning Fridays at 7:00 and ending the following Friday at 7:00
Call: 24-hour call throughout the 7-day block; 6-8 hours of gratis call included
Volume: Approximately 20 patients per day
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, 250 beds - inpatient only
Procedures: EGD and colonoscopy; no advanced or specialty procedures required
Population: Adult hospitalized patients
Support: APP support plus dedicated endoscopy staff
Onboarding: Facility-specific first-day orientation covering department orientation, clinical onboarding, and introduction to site leadership

Responsibilities:
- Inpatient gastroenterology consults and daily rounding
- Perform inpatient endoscopy including EGD and colonoscopy
- Overnight call coverage taken from outside the hospital
- Coordinate with APP and endoscopy support staff
- Documentation in Epic and Provation

Requirements:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Active Pennsylvania medical license required
- DEA required
- Local candidates preferred

Credentialing:
- Credentialing timeframe: approximately 3-4 months
- Badging and IT access coordinated by the health system
