Locum Gastroenterology Physician - Mechanicsville, VA

Coverage Type: 24-Hour On-Call (Monday 7 AM – Friday 7 AM)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage.
This is a hospital-based call position with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. The facility uses Epic EMR and offers a supportive environment with onsite lab and imaging.

Schedule
24-hour on-call coverage
Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 AM (continuous call)
Holiday week available (higher rate applies)
Must be available for specific open dates to be considered
Average: ~8 procedures per week

Practice Setting
Hospital call coverage
Adult patient population
Inpatient consults + outpatient GI coverage
No trauma designation
225-bed facility
EMR: Epic

Required Procedures
ERCP (Required)
Esophageal dilation & manometry
Colonoscopy & sigmoidoscopy
Liver biopsy
Upper & lower GI endoscopy
PEG placement
Management of GI bleeds
EUS (Preferred)

Compensation:
Travel included
Lodging cap: ~$150/night

Requirements
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active Virginia license

12/21 – 12/25 (Holiday Rate)

• Hospital-based GI coverage with inpatient consults and outpatient responsibilities; Epic EMR; ~8 procedures per week.
• Hybrid Practice Setting – Adult patient population with both hospital call and outpatient GI responsibilities; onsite lab and imaging; no trauma designation.
• 24-Hour Call Coverage (Mon 7AM – Fri 7AM)
