Gastroenterology Physician - ERCP | Inpatient & Outpatient | Bellingham, WA | 26 Weeks

Job description

Start: November 2, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 26 weeks / 6 months (open to extension)
Coverage: Both inpatient and outpatient - clinic, outpatient endoscopy center, and hospital
Schedule: Standard 5x8s, 8:00-16:00 for clinic/endoscopy days (8-9 hrs); 24-hour call/hospitalist-style shifts also available
Call: Required - 24-hour call covering weekdays and weekends, plus night call and call-back
Volume: Clinic ~16/day; outpatient endoscopy 14-16/day; hospital census varies
Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic + endoscopy center + hospital (253 beds)
Procedures: ERCP and general gastroenterology procedures
Rounding and admissions: Both required
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation provided

Outpatient gastroenterology evaluations, consults, and follow-up
Perform ERCP and general GI endoscopic procedures in the outpatient endoscopy center and hospital
Inpatient rounding, consults, and admissions
Documentation in Epic

Requirements
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
ACLS required
Washington state license required - IMLC accepted; client is willing to license
Both clinic and hospital privileges required
Epic charting experience required
COVID-19 vaccination required - no exemptions
ERCP privileging documentation: at least 50 successful ERCP procedures within the past 24 months; if maintenance criteria are not met, proctoring will be required for remaining cases
Case logs: documentation of gastroenterology services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested over the previous 24 months (waived for applicants who completed training within the past year)
If training in double balloon enteroscopy or capsule endoscopy occurred within the previous 2 years, a description of supervised training on human subjects plus a letter from the supervising physician attesting to independent competence is required

Credentialing
Standard credentialing: approximately 90 days from application submission; expedited/fast-track options available in some instances
Temporary privileges: 120 days. Standard privileges: 1.5 years.
