Gastroenterology Physician | Inpatient & Outpatient | Level II Trauma Center | Bellingham, WA | 13 Weeks

Job description

Start: November 2, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks (req approved through 1/14/27)
Coverage: Both inpatient and outpatient - clinic, outpatient endoscopy center, and hospital
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 8:00-17:00
Call: 24-hour call required - consults, rounding, inpatient/outpatient GI procedures; evenings, nights, and weekends when on call
Volume: Clinic ~16/day; outpatient endoscopy 14-16/day; hospital census varies
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital (251 beds, Level II trauma) plus outpatient clinic and endoscopy center
Procedures: Inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology procedures
Rounding and admissions: Both required
Population: Adults 18+
Support: One additional GI physician within the practice
Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation provided

Responsibilities:
- Outpatient gastroenterology evaluations, consults, and follow-up
- Perform GI endoscopic procedures in the outpatient endoscopy center and hospital
- Inpatient consults, rounding, and admissions
- Documentation in Epic

Requirements:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Washington state license required at start - IMLC accepted; candidates without an active license or with a pending Washington license will be considered
- Both clinic and hospital privileges required
- Proficient Epic user
- COVID-19 vaccination required - no exemptions

Credentialing:
- Standard credentialing: approximately 90 days from application submission
- Temporary privileges: 120 days | Standard privileges: 1.5 years
