Hospitalist NP Opportunity in Washington, DC – 7-on/7-off Style Days with No Procedures

A growing acute care hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a long-term locum assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP who enjoys managing adult patients in a collaborative hospitalist program with strong specialty support.

Job duties include daytime rounding and admissions while working alongside hospitalists in a well-established team. No procedures are required, though you may perform them if desired. The ICU is closed and staffed 24/7 by board-certified intensivists.

Start Date: 9/1/2026
Contract Length: 6 months
Schedule:
• Day shifts only (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 12-hour shifts
• No call required for APPs

Practice Setting:
• Acute Care Hospital
• 136-bed hospital (expandable to 184 beds)
• Closed ICU with 20 ICU beds
• Average daily census: 41 patients

Work Details:
• Adult inpatient rounding and admissions
• No procedures required
• Hospitalists supervise APPs
• EMR: Oracle (Cerner)

Support Staff:
• Hospitalist physician team
• Board-certified intensivists providing 24-hour ICU coverage
• On-site Cardiology (weekdays)
• GI, Nephrology, Pulmonology, and other specialty consultation available

Requirements:
• Active DC license required (no licensing offered)
• Active DC DEA and CSR required at submission

Credentialing Timeframe:
• Approximately 30–60 days
• Temporary privileges available on a case-by-case basis

We pay weekly, cover malpractice insurance, and handle credentialing in-house!

• Day shift only with 12-hour schedule and no call required for APPs
• Closed ICU with intensivist support handling all ICU procedures
• Temporary privileges may be available for qualified candidates
