This facility is a well-established hospital serving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, offering a wide range of inpatient services supported by key specialties including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, anesthesia, and radiology available around the clock. With a 23-bed department and a Level 3 trauma designation, the facility provides a collaborative and supportive environment for hospitalist providers.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hospitalist
Job Details:
- Nighttime call coverage only, 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am
- Must be US Board Certified with an active Michigan medical license
- Must hold an active Michigan Controlled Substance License and active Michigan DEA
- Average inpatient census of 15 patients per night
- Average of 2 admits per night
- Must be within 20 minutes to admit if needed and available for calls throughout the shift
- Onsite orientation required one day prior to first shift
- Coverage dates include shifts in July and August with ongoing opportunities
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Preferred procedural skills include inpatient care with ICU experience, ventilation management (acute and chronic), intubation, chest tube placement, arterial line placement, PA catheter placement, PICC line placement, and EKG interpretation
- Preferred pediatric skills include inpatient and PICU care, nursery level I, non-invasive ventilation management, pediatric intubation, conscious and deep sedation, and central line placement
- Facility lodging available if needed
- Nearest airport is CMX - Hancock, MI
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
- Must be licensed in Michigan or hold an IMLC license
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
