Oncology - NP/PA Needed in CA (will license - PAs only)

Location: San Francisco

Start: March

26-week assignment with the option to extend

Shift Details: 4x10, variable days

Schedule: 3 full days of clinic, 1 admin day, sometimes broken up to 2 half admin days

Work Details:
• Support staff: 3 APPs, numerous physicians
• Amount of coverage needed per month: 4 x 10 per week
• Patients per day: 5-6 per half day clinic, no more than 30 patients per week
• Patient population/age: adults only

• Department description:
o Purely outpatient
o Sees cases in head oncology, neck oncology, and melanomas
o Majority head and neck oncology cases
o All medical oncology, all patients on active cancer treatments – generally advanced stages or metastatic. Most patients are very ill.
• EMR: EPIC
• Special procedures: Chemo

• Skills required:
o 2 or more years of med oncology exp as APP
o Ideally looking for academic medical center
o Ideally looking for head and neck med oncology exp
o No infusion coverage
o General oncology is okay

Practice Setting:
• Hospital – Outpatient

Requirements:
• Board Certification:
o For NP: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC
o PA must have master’s degree in physician assistant studies
• State license required: CA license required for NP. Will license for PAs.
• DEA: yes, CA with Schedule 2
• CSR: TBD
• Certifications preferred: Chemo cert, AOCNP cert or ONS BioChemo cert
• Minimum experience required: 2+ years in Medical Oncology as an APP

Credentialing Timeframe: 60 – 90 days
