Work Details:
• Support staff: 5 surgeons, 2 RNs, MA/PC
• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time
• Patients per day: 10-12
• Patient population/age: adults
• Department description: This AHP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, specialty protocols (e.g. chemotherapy), routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures. Mostly outpatient, but could potentially assist in the OR when needed if RNFA - not required.

• Skills required:
• Must be able to care for pre and post op thoracic surgery patients
• Must have an understanding of surgical oncology, specifically lung and esophageal cancers.
Requirements:
• Board Certification: If NP, must be: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC. If PA, must have AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant.
• License required: Yes, CA NP and furnishing license required
• DEA: Required CA with schedule 2
• Certifications required: BLS
• Minimum experience required:
1+ years PA/NP experience in an outpatient surgical oncology practice
Thoracic specific experience strongly preferred
