Inpatient Neurologist – Full Time

Position Overview

A Level I Trauma Center in New Jersey is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist for a full-time inpatient neurology position. This role offers strong clinical support, a predictable schedule, and limited overnight call burden.

Schedule & Call

On-site daytime shifts: Approximately 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Call: 6:00 PM – 9:00 AM during scheduled work week

7 on / 7 off rotation

Overnight consults/calls are rare

Typically only if a resident requires significant assistance or case review

Facility is expanding overnight APP coverage to further reduce overnight provider call needs

Patient Volume

Average 10–30 patients per day

30 patients is a rare exception, not typical

Robust support from residents and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Collaborative academic-style environment

Clinical Caseload Includes

Stroke and TIA mimics

Seizures, seizure-like events, and status epilepticus

Encephalopathy

Head pain syndromes

Neuromuscular disorders

Medical spinal cord disorders

Autoimmune and paraneoplastic neurologic conditions

Nervous system infections

Vestibular disorders

Neuro-ophthalmologic disorders

Procedures

Bedside lumbar puncture

Direct performance, supervision, or procedural education

Requirements

Board Certified in Neurology

Eligible for New Jersey medical licensure

Comfortable managing a broad inpatient neurology caseload

Ability to work collaboratively in a teaching hospital environment
