Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (PM&R) – Inpatient Rehab

Job description

A leading healthcare system is seeking a PM&R Physician for an inpatient rehabilitation opportunity with a mix of scheduled clinical coverage and call responsibilities. This is an excellent fit for providers who enjoy a collaborative environment and managing a diverse rehab population.
Practice Setting:
Inpatient acute rehabilitation units
Team-based care with access to consulting services, including neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and internal medicine
Dedicated support for acute medical issues from internal medicine teams
Utilizes Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities:
Admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
Manage a patient population including:
Stroke and brain injury
Orthopedic rehabilitation
General rehab and functional recovery
Pain management
Average patient volume: 13–15 patients per day
Perform common PM&R procedures such as:
Joint injections
Spasticity management (e.g., Botox, intrathecal baclofen pumps)
EMG/NCS not required

Schedule & Call:
Monday–Friday onsite coverage (8-hour days)
Night beeper call following daytime shifts
Occasional weekend coverage may be needed (daytime + night call)
Call volume varies

Requirements:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Active state medical license required
DEA required
BLS (AHA) certification required
Minimum of 2 years of inpatient PM&R experience

Additional Details:
Approximately 45-day credentialing timeframe; expedited privileges may be available
Candidates should provide availability for upcoming coverage needs
Strong preference for providers comfortable with general PM&R case mix
