Job description

Specialty: PM&R – General Rehabilitation Physiatrist
Location: Washington
Start Date: November 1, 2026
Coverage Needed: Approximately 11 weeks
Practice Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation

Coverage Dates
November 1–14
December 19–January 3
February 1–21

Important: Providers must be able to cover most of the requested weeks or have flexibility to make up coverage during alternate weeks. Please include exact availability with submission.

Schedule
8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Provider may complete patient work earlier but must remain available until 5:00 PM for resident supervision and potential admissions
Work Details
General inpatient rehabilitation
Approximately 12 inpatients/day
Primary management of inpatient rehab beds
PM&R serves as the primary medical service
No surgical component
No EMGs
Providers will supervise residents/trainees
Patient Population & Case Mix
Adults 18+
Approximately:
30% Stroke
30% Brain Injury
30% Spinal Cord Injury
Medically and socially complex patient population
Ventilator management included
Approximately 30–40 admissions/month across the unit

Regional Level I Trauma Center
Safety-net hospital
Epic EMR
Requirements
PM&R Board Certified or Board Eligible
Active Washington license required
PM&R residency completed
General inpatient rehabilitation experience
Comfortable managing ~12 inpatient beds/day
Comfortable supervising residents and trainees
Comfortable with medically and socially complex patients
Comfortable managing patients on ventilators
Spinal Cord Injury or Brain Injury fellowship training is a plus, but not required
Credentialing
Approximately 3–4 months

• 13 weeks with option to extend
• No on call
