This year’s National Locum Tenens Week falls shortly after LocumTenens.com released its 2021 Physician and Advanced Practice Salary Report, which found 39% of clinicians are experiencing increased levels of stress and burnout due to the pandemic, with 63% of clinicians having taken or planning to take time off from practicing within the next few months. The locum tenens industry helps provide coverage for healthcare facilities when a clinician is out of practice, often due to paid time off or an extended leave of absence.
