Job Description:
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist needed for an outpatient locum tenens opportunity providing care to youth in Maryland juvenile detention centers. This assignment offers a flexible schedule and the ability to accept multiple providers to help cover several facilities.
Practice Details:
- Outpatient setting
- Patient population: Ages 10–18
- 8-hour shifts
- 3–10 patients per day
- Medication management (15–30 minutes) and psychiatric evaluations (60 minutes)
- Support staff includes nurses, case workers, and PMHNPs
Schedule:
- Approximately 15 days per month
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Shifts must be consistently scheduled and evenly distributed throughout the month
- Flexible scheduling available to ensure coverage across sites
Additional Details:
- On-site coverage required (potential for remote coverage)
- Cases include oppositional defiant disorder, substance use, and withdrawal management
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Psychiatry
- Board Certified or Fellowship Trained in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Active Maryland license preferred
