Psychiatrist | Inpatient & Outpatient Behavioral Health | Longview, WA | 26 Weeks

Job description

Start: November 30, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 26 weeks - current approval runs through February 28, 2027
Coverage: Scheduled hours with optional call - both inpatient and outpatient settings
Schedule: Clinic days 8:00-17:00 with a one-hour lunch; split days run 8:00-12:00 inpatient, then 13:00-17:00 clinic; occasional 7:30 starts when court is scheduled
Monthly mix: 5-7 inpatient shifts and 12-19 outpatient days
Call: Optional - occasional night call; weekend coverage roughly once per quarter for inpatient telepsychiatry, remote-eligible for Washington residents
Volume: Average 12-14 patients per day
Practice Setting: Outpatient behavioral health clinic plus 126-bed hospital, five minutes apart
Rounding, admissions, and discharges: All required
Population: Adults
Coverage will be solo
Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation provided

Current open blocks: Nov 30-Dec 2 (clinic), Dec 7-11 (inpatient AM / clinic PM), Dec 14-18 (clinic), Dec 28-30 (clinic), Jan 4-8 (inpatient AM / clinic PM), Jan 11-13 (clinic), Jan 18-22 (inpatient AM / clinic PM), Jan 25-27 (clinic)

Responsibilities:
- Outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up
- Inpatient rounding, admissions, and discharges
- Occasional court appearances related to inpatient care
- Inpatient telepsychiatry coverage on scheduled weekends
- Documentation in Epic

Requirements:
- Board Certified in Psychiatry
- BLS required
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Active Washington license in hand at time of presentation is required - IMLC is not being accepted for this role due to the credentialing timeline
- Both clinic and hospital privileges required
- Epic charting experience required
- COVID-19 vaccination required - no exemptions

Credentialing:
- Standard credentialing: approximately 90 days from application submission
- Temporary privileges: 120 days | Standard privileges: 1.5 years
